Portable Non-Contact Keyboard “Happy Hacking Professional BT”

As someone who primarily writes, I naturally started using good keyboards. Initially, I used basic and affordable keyboards, but after trying a more expensive one, I realized the significant performance differences between keyboards.

“Mechanical Keyboards vs Non-Contact Keyboards?”

In the realm of expensive keyboards, two major categories are “mechanical keyboards” and “non-contact keyboards.” Mechanical keyboards are becoming more mainstream, and you can find them easily even at local electronics stores.

However, non-contact keyboards are relatively less known. While enthusiasts might be familiar with various brands and models, it’s still considered a niche.

“Non-Contact Keyboards: Realforce? Happy Hacking?”

In the non-contact keyboard space, “Realforce” and “Happy Hacking” are well-known brands. Personally, Realforce didn’t suit my preferences, but I found Happy Hacking’s series to be a good fit and have been using it comfortably.

The most significant difference between mechanical and non-contact keyboards is the “noise.” While non-contact keyboards also produce some sound, it’s generally quieter compared to mechanical keyboards. Of course, the noise level in mechanical keyboards varies based on the switch type, but non-contact keyboards are generally quieter.

“Portable Happy Hacking Professional BT”

The Happy Hacking Professional BT is a compact keyboard consisting of only 60 keys. It is significantly smaller compared to a regular keyboard.

Despite concerns about potential discomfort due to its reduced size, I found it surprisingly convenient. The smaller size enhances portability, making it easier to carry around.

You can use various keys within the 60 keys by combining them with the “FN” key. Since I mostly use basic keys, I didn’t find it inconvenient.

“Bluetooth Connectivity: Compatible with Mac and Windows”

The keyboard supports both Bluetooth and wired connections. However, Bluetooth is commonly used for its convenience.

It works seamlessly with iPhone, MacBook, Windows, and Android devices. While you can pair it with multiple devices, the pairing process isn’t as straightforward, making it somewhat inconvenient. Therefore, I prefer connecting the keyboard to a single device.

If the Bluetooth multi-connection feature is improved, it would enhance the product further.

“Uses AA Batteries”

The keyboard operates on regular batteries. Two AA-sized batteries power it, providing hassle-free usage. It’s not rechargeable, but it’s more convenient in some aspects. You only need to replace the batteries once in a while.

Overall, it has a good key feel, a compact size for portability, and the use of regular batteries adds convenience. However, it is relatively expensive compared to regular keyboards.

You can purchase it on Coupang, Amazon, or eBay. Since it’s an international product, Amazon or eBay might offer better prices than Coupang.
