Oyster Village Nakji Village, Ansan: Abalone Rice Porridge & Oyster Bossam Restaurant

In Korea, oysters are considered a special delicacy that can be enjoyed during the winter season. The freshness and size of the oysters allow oyster enthusiasts to eagerly anticipate the winter season.

Especially in Europe, oysters are known to be relatively expensive due to the abundance of the sea, but a scarcity of tidal flats, making it a precious ingredient. For example, at London’s early morning fish market, a freshly caught Kifprosan oyster costs 2-3 euros each, which is approximately 3,000-4,000 Korean won, while premium ones cost around 4-5 euros, or about 5,000-6,000 Korean won.

“A Great Place to Taste Oyster Bossam and Oyster Pancakes”

At Oyster Village Nakji Village, you can taste nearly all dishes made with oysters. Therefore, it’s natural to find “oyster bossam” on the menu. However, dishes like oyster bossam are seasonal and can typically be enjoyed until the end of March in Korea.

On the day of my visit, March 26th, I was able to enjoy oyster bossam just before the oyster season ended. Oyster bossam was priced at 38,000 KRW, providing a hearty meal with oysters.

In addition to oyster bossam, I also ordered oyster pancakes. Depending on the size, oyster pancakes are priced at 15,000 KRW (large) and 12,000 KRW (small), offering a cost-effective and delicious option.

When you’re craving oyster dishes, Oyster Village Nakji Village is a great place to visit. Here, you can try various dishes made with oysters, including oyster rice porridge, oyster bossam, and oyster pancakes.

However, please note that the restaurant has a typical dining atmosphere. Keep in mind that you’ll need to take off your shoes and sit on the floor to enjoy your meal, which may be a bit uncomfortable for some.
