“Osaka Shinsaibashi PARCO Department Store”

In the central areas of Osaka, such as Shinsaibashi-suji and Dotonbori, one can find long stretches of arcade shopping streets running from north to south. Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street is lined with various stores.

At the heart of Shinsaibashi-suji, you’ll find Daimaru Department Store and a shopping mall called PARCO. Daimaru Department Store, with a history of over 300 years, features a neo-Gothic architectural design by American architect William Merrell Vories. Daimaru is connected to PARCO.

PARCO, a department store that fully renovated the North Building of Daimaru, opened in 2020. It houses over 170 stores, including various popular character shops like HANDS.

PARCO Department Store is centrally located in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi-suji, making it easily accessible and visible as you stroll through the shopping street. As you explore Shinsaibashi-suji, you’ll naturally come across this prominent establishment.

On the 6th floor, you can find various character shops, ranging from the iconic “Totoro” store to Capcom, famous for Street Fighter, and various other character shops like Godzilla.

“HANDS Utilizing Floors 9-11”

HANDS is also a large presence, utilizing three floors from the 9th to the 11th, offering a diverse range of items. On the floors with HANDS, I found a small café called “Pomme L’iminal Osaka,” where I could taste “apple candy.”

Tanghulu, a current trend in South Korea, is reminiscent of the apple candy I tasted here.

As a department store in the center of Shinsaibashi-suji where you can find a variety of items, it’s a great place to explore each floor and discover interesting items.
