Seoul Gwanghwamun Bakery Cafe “Dalgom”

The area around Gwanghwamun Station in Seoul is a representative office-dense region in the city. It’s densely populated with various public institutions, overseas agencies, major corporations, and small to medium-sized businesses, including the government’s Seoul Administrative Complex.

Because of this, it’s always bustling with office workers, and you can find various places nearby to cater to their needs.

In the underground levels of the large buildings in the Gwanghwamun area, you can find underground shopping malls, densely packed with restaurants, cafes, and other convenience facilities. Among them, in the underground of the Doryeom Building, you can find several small but competitive stores.

Dalgom can also be found in the underground shopping area of the “Doryeom Building” in Gwanghwamun. The store is quite small and does not have seating available. As a result, you can only proceed with takeout; it’s not a place where you can spend time in the store.

Despite this, the scones sold here are quite popular among nearby office workers. It’s not uncommon to see all the scones sold out before lunchtime. In addition to scones, you can also taste other pastries like croissants.

“A Store that Closes Early”

The operating hours are quite short. Considering that the Gwanghwamun underground dining area is not crowded in the evening, it might be more strategic to focus on operating before and after lunch. It’s a place that only operates for a short time from morning to afternoon.

“Famous for Scones and Croissants – A Bakery Cafe”

Dalgom is particularly famous for its scones. Therefore, if you want to buy scones, you need to hurry. Typically, if you go during lunchtime, most of them will already be sold out. Scones are extremely popular.

In addition to scones and croissants, the cafe also sells simple coffee items like Americanos for takeout. It’s a good idea to grab some snacks and takeout coffee. Since it’s a takeout-only store, the prices are relatively affordable. An Americano, for example, costs only 2,500 won.
