Pokémon Center at Osaka Daimaru Department Store

Located on the 9th floor of Osaka’s Shinsaibashi Shopping District, Daimaru Department Store offers a unique atmosphere compared to other department stores. While department stores in South Korea typically handle clothing and accessories, with a focus on luxury brands, Japanese department stores also dedicate space to selling “character goods,” creating an eye-catching experience.

“Pokémon Center at Osaka Daimaru Department Store”

The Pokémon Center is situated on the 9th floor of Daimaru Department Store. On this floor, you can find not only the Pokémon Center but also “Jump,” the manga magazine that many of us encountered during our childhood. The impressive aspect is the dedication of an entire floor to subcultures referred to as “subculture.”

Particularly, Pokémon began as an animated series but has expanded into various games, maintaining popularity over a long period. Starting with the character Pikachu from the series, Pokémon continuously creates diverse, unique, and charming monsters, making it a globally popular Intellectual Property (IPO).

“Explore Various Character Goods at Pokémon Center”

The Pokémon Center offers a wide range of products featuring various characters from the Pokémon animated series. Pokémon, as a franchise, has become an IPO that extends beyond Japan, suggesting that content and related IPOs may be crucial in the future of industries.

“Visit the Pokémon Café at Pokémon Center”

Within the Pokémon Center, there is also a café. However, please note that the café has limited capacity, so there may be a wait in line for entry. As the author visited alone and had limited time to spend, a brief exploration of the floor was followed by moving on to the next destination.
