KME 2022 (Korea MICE EXPO)

KME 2022, the Korea MICE EXPO, took place at Songdo ConvensiA, Incheon, from November 8th to 13th, 2022.

The event saw over 200 local participants including buyers from more than 20 countries worldwide, regional convention bureaus, industry associations related to MICE, and corporate representatives.

KME 2022 was held from November 8th to 13th. During these six days, there were promotional activities for various regions at booths, along with meetings between buyers and sellers.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the services provided by regions and companies through various events, meetings, and guidance provided in booths representing diverse areas such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gyeongsangbuk, Gyeongsangnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju.

“ESG Marketing including Eco-friendly Booths”

KME 2022 incorporated trends in “ESG (Environment, Social, Governance)” that were not seen in previous events, such as eco-friendly booths with reduced waste and social contribution team-building programs.

Korea Tourism Organization, along with Seoul, Busan, Goyang, utilized booths with eco-friendly concepts made of recycled materials. Jeju also presented a program supporting eco-friendly events under the theme of eco-friendly MICE.

Korea Tourism Organization drew attention by arranging tables and chairs made of paper in the KME Lounge, a rest area within the venue.

Various promotional materials and printed materials used for venue development and program guidance were replaced with online alternatives to reduce paper usage and waste.

“Specialized Travel Agency Based on Homestays, Homestay Korea”

A notable company at the event was “Homestay Korea,” operated by S&G United Co., Ltd. Homestay Korea is a specialized travel agency based on homestays and participated in the 2022 Korea MICE EXPO (KME) to attract corporate incentive tourists.

They actively promoted their products by producing promotional spaces, brochures, and conducting approximately 45 consultations for overseas buyers.

Particularly, their travel packages, which were based on unique experiences in each region and household, garnered attention compared to other conventional travel products.
