Keisei Access Express “Narita Airport – Shinagawa Station”

When entering Japan through Tokyo Narita Airport, it takes a considerable amount of time to reach the city center. Unlike Haneda Airport, which is closer to downtown, Narita Airport is relatively situated on the outskirts.

Thanks to this, there are various transportation options available for traveling from Narita Airport to downtown Tokyo. As I’ve explored these options before, you can refer to the following link for details: [Tokyo Narita Airport – Getting to Tokyo](link to the relevant content).

“Traveling from Narita Airport to Shinagawa Station”

For this Tokyo trip, I chose a hotel near Shinagawa Station as my accommodation. Therefore, the first task upon arriving at the airport was to make my way to Shinagawa Station.

Since it was my first visit to Narita Airport and I needed to head to the city center, I inquired at the nearby “Information Centre.” While many Japanese people may not speak English exceptionally well, at least the staff at the airport’s information center could communicate in English, which was fortunate.

After consolidating the information received from the staff, I initially considered taking the airport bus. However, given the cost of 3,100 yen and the fact that I would have to wait for about 40 minutes before departure, I decided to opt for the Keisei Access Express, which was almost half the price with a similar arrival time.

“Keisei Access Express Train Available at Narita Airport Terminal 2”

The Keisei Access Express train can be boarded at Narita Airport Terminal 2. With the assistance of a station attendant working near the vending machines at Narita Airport, I purchased a ticket. Afterward, I moved from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2, which took a considerable amount of time, around 15 minutes to reach the train platform.

“Boarding the Keisei Access Express, Arrival at Shinagawa Station”

The train resembled a subway commonly seen in South Korea and was equivalent to an express train. Boarding from the subway platform, the train that departed Narita Airport at around 2:47 PM took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Shinagawa Station at around 4:10 PM.

Having traveled from Narita Airport to downtown Tokyo, I could now embark on my Tokyo adventure in earnest.
