In fact, Hong Kong is more renowned for movies than cartoons. Especially in the 1990s, Hong Kong cinema was globally popular, rivaling the current Hallyu wave from Korea. This popularity helped create Hong Kong stars like Jet Li and Jackie Chan.

Capitalizing on the popularity of Hong Kong cinema, a “Star Street” was created on the waterfront where you can view the Hong Kong Island from the south of Tsim Sha Tsui. Here, you can see statues and handprints of major actors.

At Kowloon Park, which you can find in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, you can see an exhibition of comic characters. While it may be less popular compared to Hong Kong movies, it’s a place where statues of familiar comic characters are displayed.

You can find it inside Kowloon Park at the Grotto. It’s a space where you can meet comic characters from memories that you can no longer easily see in statue form, evoking nostalgia from childhood.

Since Hong Kong cartoons are not as famous and the scenery of Kowloon Park differs from the view of the Hong Kong Island coastline, people generally prefer visiting Star Street over this place. However, for travelers leisurely exploring Hong Kong, it’s a great place to take a stroll in the park.
