Board Game “Hey, That’s My Fish”

“Hey, That’s My Fish” is a simple board game that uses penguins. The game’s objective is straightforward: to have your penguins collect the most fish.

Released in 2003, the game has gained popularity over the years due to its simplicity and adorable components.

Game Components:

The game components consist of penguin tokens and fish tiles. They are categorized as follows:

  • Penguin Tokens: 16 in total, with 4 of each color.
  • Fish Tiles:
    • Single-fish tiles: 30
    • Double-fish tiles: 20
    • Triple-fish tiles: 10

Objective of the Game:

The player who strategically places penguins on the fish tiles and collects the most fish emerges victorious.

Gameplay:

  • Fish Tile Placement: Randomly place fish tiles in a square pattern.
  • Penguin Placement: Players take turns placing their colored penguins on the tiles. (2 players: 4 penguins each, 3 players: 3 penguins each, 4 players: 2 penguins each)
  • Penguin Movement: On their turn, a player selects one of their penguins and moves it in a straight line.
  • After Penguin Movement: Collect the ice floe where the penguin started its movement.

Rules for Penguin Movement:

There are rules to follow when moving penguins. Penguins can only move in a straight line, cannot jump over empty spaces, and cannot cross over other penguins.

End of the Game and Victory Conditions:

  • When a player can no longer move their penguins, they retrieve them and collect the tiles underneath.
  • After all penguins have been retrieved, players count the number of fish they collected.
  • The player with the highest total of fish wins. In case of a tie, the player with more tiles wins.
