Starbucks at Kyobo Book Centre, Gwanghwamun, Seoul

In the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul, you can find Starbucks scattered all around. Since landing in Korea with its first store in front of Ewha Womans University in 1999, Starbucks has gradually expanded its business. Now, it is known for having more Starbucks stores in the Gwanghwamun area within a 1km radius of Gwanghwamun Square than even in New York.

“Starbucks Inside Kyobo Book Centre Main Store, Seoul”

As of August 31, 2022, you can also find a Starbucks inside the main Kyobo Book Centre in Gwanghwamun. Previously, it operated as a place like a food court, but this space was newly created through a collaboration with Starbucks. Currently, the Starbucks store inside the bookstore is unique to the Kyobo Book Centre in Gwanghwamun.

There are some differences in this Starbucks store compared to other Starbucks locations. The first thing you’ll notice is the “Recommended Books” prominently displayed at the center in front of the store. Each month, they showcase recommended books by theme, and you can freely browse them inside the Starbucks store.

“Spacious and Comfortable Atmosphere at Starbucks”

The Starbucks at Kyobo Book Centre in Gwanghwamun has a fairly spacious layout. From the outside, it may not appear very large, but once you step inside, you’ll see that the space is quite deep.

There are both open and closed spaces, allowing you to choose your seat according to your preference.

It’s a great place to spend leisurely time with books while visiting the bookstore. As a café located inside the main store of Kyobo Book Centre, which can be considered the largest bookstore in Korea, it provides an atmosphere that combines the ambiance of Kyobo Book Centre with the vibe of Starbucks.
