To the southeast of Seoul National University Entrance, there’s a small alley called “Sharosu-gil.” It’s known for its quaint and diverse restaurants and cafes, making it a popular destination for couples on dates.

The name “Sharosu-gil” is a combination of “Shar” from Seoul National University’s symbol and “Garosu-gil” (Tree-Lined Road). In the past, it was known as “Naksungdae Market,” which had a charming market atmosphere. However, in the mid-2010s, various experimental establishments started popping up in the alley, thanks to relatively low rent and a youthful business environment. This led to the transformation of the area into an interesting and lively street.

Even now, Sharosu-gil is a bustling street full of charming and unique small shops, making it a representative destination near Seoul National University Entrance.

This restaurant specializes in well-marinated pork ribs. However, it’s surprisingly adept at preparing other dishes in addition to pork ribs. Personally, I recommend trying the “Galbitang” (rib soup) here, which comes in a generous portion.

You can also enjoy naengmyeon (cold noodles) after eating the meat, or order Yukssam Naengmyeon (cold noodles with meat wraps) if you prefer a non-meat option. This combination works quite well.

Ordering meat by yourself might feel a bit much, but it’s a good place to dine alone if you opt for dishes like Galbitang or cold noodles.
