Shake Shack is a fast-casual restaurant franchise from the United States, known colloquially in Korea as “Shack Shack.”
Founded in 2001, Shake Shack began as an event organized by Danny Meyer to raise funds for the restoration of Madison Square Park in New York. Originally intended as a one-time event, it garnered such a positive response that it continued, eventually leading to the official opening of a store within the park in June 2004.
Subsequently, on July 22, 2016, Shake Shack expanded its presence to Korea, opening its first store in front of Exit 5 of Seoul’s Sinnonhyeon Station. Following the opening of the inaugural branch in Korea, Shake Shack gradually established its presence across the country, becoming a well-known franchise for handcrafted burgers in major areas.
“Triple Street in Incheon Songdo: Shake Shack Songdo Branch”
You can find Triple Street in Incheon Songdo, a complex shopping mall where you’ll come across the Shake Shack store on the 1st floor of Building B.
Similar to other Shake Shack locations within Triple Street, the Songdo branch boasts a substantial footprint. Spanning two floors, it offers a spacious and open atmosphere.
“Incheon Songdo’s Signature Concrete at Shake Shack”
While Shake Shack typically offers the same menu at all its locations, each branch may also have its own signature item.
At the Songdo branch in Incheon, they serve a menu item called “Crunchy Street.” This is Shake Shack Songdo’s signature concrete, featuring a delightful combination of crunchy chocolate toffee, chunks, and rich peanut butter sauce.
As this was my first visit to the Shake Shack Songdo branch, I decided to try their signature item, believing it’s a must-try. The single size is priced at KRW 6,200.
“A Spacious and Open Atmosphere”
Most of the stores within Songdo’s Triple Street are notably spacious, offering a unique experience not often found in Seoul. The generous space allows for comfortable dining. Moreover, with a second floor, you can place your order on the first floor and then head upstairs to enjoy your meal. Seating by the window allows for a scenic view of the Triple Street area, making it a perfect spot to soak in the atmosphere.
