There are various ways to travel from Tokyo’s Narita Airport to the city center. You can use different railway routes or opt for transportation methods like buses or taxis.
For details on various transportation methods, you can check my previous summary shared at the following link:

“Traveling to Tokyo City using Keisei 1000 Yen Bus”
Among the various options, we chose to use the bus this time. During a previous Tokyo trip, I used ‘The Access Narita,’ a 1000 Yen bus, to travel from Ginza to Narita Airport. In Tokyo, unlike in South Korea, there aren’t as many cars on the highways, so the travel was surprisingly fast.

“Boarding Keisei Bus at Narita Airport Terminal 1”
This time, I boarded the bus from Narita Airport Terminal 1. The bus fare is 1,000 yen, earning it the nickname ‘1000 Yen Bus.’ There are only two destinations: Tokyo Station and Osaka Station. As the price difference is only 100 yen, selecting the station closest to your destination can be helpful.
As my accommodation was closer to Tokyo Station, I boarded the bus heading there.
“Boarding Keisei Bus”
After purchasing the ticket, I moved to board the bus. You could board the bus at Stop 31. Stop 31 is right in front and can be found through the South 3 Exit (S3).
There were several lines; one seemed to be for those not pre-purchasing tickets, paying 1,000 yen directly to the driver, and the other for ticket holders with specific departure times. As the bus departure time approached, the staff organized the lines and helped with luggage.
“Spacious luggage storage on Keisei Bus”
Being travelers with quite a bit of luggage, we could place suitcase-like bags in the storage compartment under the bus. The staff assisted with organizing the luggage. They attached a tag with a number to the luggage and handed a paper with the same number, similar to the process of tagging luggage on airplanes. Keeping the paper tag is crucial for retrieving your luggage.
“Narita Airport Terminal 1 to Tokyo Station: 55 minutes”
The bus departing from Narita Airport Terminal 1 took about 55 minutes to reach Tokyo Station. Again, there was no traffic congestion when entering Tokyo city from the airport. Perhaps due to high car maintenance costs in Japan, there are relatively fewer vehicles on the roads, allowing for fast and congestion-free travel, especially when using buses.
However, if you check the bus company’s website, they estimate around 80 minutes, probably allowing some extra time for unforeseen circumstances.
Thanks to this, we could comfortably travel from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station by bus. Now, the remaining task was to move to the accommodation, complete the check-in, and start our Tokyo exploration.
