There are various ways to travel from Kobe to Kansai International Airport. One can use the railway or opt for the airport limousine bus. Among the most popular methods is taking the airport limousine bus, which takes approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes to reach Kansai International Airport from Kobe. While the fare is higher at 2,000 yen, equivalent to about 20,000 won, it is considered the most convenient means of transportation for the journey from Kansai Airport to Kobe.

“Traveling from Kobe to Kansai International Airport by Sea”

An alternative way to reach Kansai International Airport from Kobe involves crossing the sea. This method utilizes the “Bay Shuttle,” where one takes the Port Liner train from Kobe Sanomiya Station to Kobe Airport and then boards the “Bay Shuttle” at Kobe Airport, ultimately reaching Kansai International Airport.

Although the Bay Shuttle takes only 30 minutes from Kobe Airport to Kansai International Airport, there is the inconvenience of traveling from Kobe Airport to the Bay Shuttle boarding area. However, the price is quite affordable. Foreigners can use the Bay Shuttle “Kobe Airport – Kansai International Airport” one-way route for a mere 500 yen.

“Affordable Travel from Kobe Airport to Kansai International Airport”

The Port Liner connects Kobe Sanomiya Station and Kobe Airport. Noteworthy for being unmanned, the Port Liner allows passengers to enjoy the scenic views around Kobe Harbor. The journey from Kobe to Kobe Airport via Port Liner takes about 18 minutes, with a cost of 340 yen.

Considering the Bay Shuttle fare of 500 yen from Kobe Airport to Kansai International Airport, this economic route allows one to travel from Kobe to Kansai International Airport for a total of only 840 yen.

However, due to the need for multiple transfers, this route may be considered cumbersome, and preferences may vary. With an adventurous spirit, I decided to conclude this Osaka region trip by challenging myself to board the Bay Shuttle and heading to the airport.

Getting from Kobe Sanomiya Station to Kobe Airport is relatively straightforward. Simply go to an station where the Port Liner route is available and board the train. Since Sanomiya Station is the final destination, and Kobe Airport Station is also the final destination, one can wait on the train until it reaches its endpoint.

Finding the entrance to board the “Port Liner” train at Sanomiya Station can be somewhat complex, but closely observing signs that say “Port Liner” and following them will lead to the platform. In truth, once you find the platform, there is no more cause for concern.

“Enjoying the Scenic Views on the Way to Kobe Airport”

While riding the Port Liner, you can appreciate the cityscape of Kobe and the view of Kobe Harbor. The journey feels like riding a carnival attraction as you move while gazing at the unfolding scenery outside the window. After approximately 18 minutes, you will arrive at Kobe Airport, having adorned the end of your journey with scenic views.
