Jeju Airport Duty-Free Shop: JDC Duty-Free

When traveling to Jeju Island, it’s common to use air travel. While it’s possible to travel to Jeju by ferry, most people opt for a flight.

Jeju Airport, serving as the gateway to and from Jeju Island, holds the status of an international airport. Thanks to this, even domestic travelers can take advantage of the duty-free shops.

The duty-free shop at Jeju Airport is known as “JDC Duty-Free.” Please note that duty-free shopping is only available upon departure from Jeju Airport, not upon arrival.

After completing the departure process at the airport, you can make use of the duty-free shops. The departure process at Jeju Airport is as follows:

  1. Airline check-in and baggage drop-off
  2. Security checkpoint clearance
  3. Entry into the duty-free zone for shopping
  4. Boarding the aircraft

“While not particularly large, it offers a variety of products”

The duty-free shop at Jeju Airport is relatively modest in size. Nevertheless, being able to use a duty-free shop upon returning from a domestic trip is a considerable bonus.

Especially starting from January 1, 2023, the limit for duty-free purchases at Jeju Airport has increased from the previous $600 per person to $800. This means you can now enjoy duty-free benefits and purchase even more items than before.

Personally, I tend to purchase everyday items like lotion while traveling. Since it’s something I’ll need to buy anyway, I find it more cost-effective to purchase duty-free items on the way back from a trip.

The duty-free shop at Jeju Airport helps alleviate the regret of the trip coming to an end. It’s a place where you can not only buy products at a discounted price but also reminisce about your travels.
