Both Hong Kong and Macau have returned to China, but due to the “One Country, Two Systems” policy, they are treated as separate entities. As a result, when traveling between Hong Kong, Macau, and China, one must go through separate departure and arrival checks as if traveling between different countries.
While Hong Kong was formerly under British rule, Macau was under Portuguese rule. Although both were returned to China in 1999, they are currently configured as one country with three governments, maintaining their independent governance for 50 years.

Despite both being part of China, Hong Kong and Macau have autonomous governments. In the past, there was only one way to travel between Hong Kong and Macau, or vice versa. However, with the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, a new land route was introduced, providing an additional means of transportation.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a bridge connecting Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai over the sea, making it much easier to move between these three regions.

- Moving by ferry from Hong Kong to Macau via Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (Approx. 1 hour)
- Moving by land via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (Approx. 40 minutes)
Choose the most convenient mode of transportation for your travel needs. Since the bus terminal and ferry terminal are located in different places, choose the most efficient method based on your travel itinerary.

“Prices for Bus and Ferry”
There is a difference in cost between the two modes of transportation. If you choose to use the bus via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, it costs around HKD 65 during the day and HKD 70 at night, which is approximately KRW 9,300 to 10,000.
For the ferry, a one-way trip typically costs around KRW 20,000.
“Bus Terminal Locations”
Buses connecting Hong Kong and Macau are referred to as HZMB Buses. These buses operate on a bridge that connects “Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macau.” The acronym “HZMB” stands for “Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Macau,” and “B” represents “Bridge.”
The HZMB Bus Terminal in Hong Kong can be found next to the Hong Kong Airport. In Macau, free shuttle buses are provided from each ferry terminal to the HZMB Bus Terminal.

With the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, traveling between Hong Kong and Macau has become more convenient compared to the past, and an additional option has been provided. Since Hong Kong and Macau are located close to each other, it’s recommended to explore both places simultaneously rather than visiting only one.
