2022 Summer Graduation Ceremony at Seoul Korea University

Korea University, along with Seoul National University and Yonsei University, is one of the prestigious universities in South Korea known collectively as “SKY”. However, due to its relatively secluded location in Anam-dong, visiting can be somewhat challenging.

I happened to be near Korea University and had a meeting at the Kim Hee-Sue Art Centre located nearby.

After concluding the meeting, I decided to take a look around the area, and by chance, I ended up visiting the campus. Interestingly, the “2022 Graduation Ceremony” was taking place. It was summer, and the so-called “Cosmos Graduation Ceremony” was underway.

“Anam-dong Campus of Korea University”

Korea University is renowned for its beautiful view of the main building from the main gate. When people think of Korea University’s campus, this is the image that typically comes to mind.

The location for the main gate is between the subway stations “Anam Station” and “Korea University Station”. It can be a bit ambiguous, as no matter which station you disembark from, you can find the main gate roughly in the middle.

“Stately Atmosphere of Korea University Campus”

The Korea University campus exudes a sense of history. It’s easy to find buildings with a stately atmosphere.

For reference, Korea University traces its origins back to Boseong Technical School, a modern private higher education institution founded in 1905 with the support of Emperor Gojong by Lee Young-ik, Chungsoo Gong. In 1932, Kim Seong-su acquired the school, and after liberation in 1946, it was elevated to a comprehensive university and renamed Korea University.

“Scenery of the 2022 Korea University Cosmos Graduation Ceremony”

Near the main building of Korea University, I could see graduates wearing academic gowns and caps. I witnessed families coming together to celebrate and couples taking pictures together.

Although I’m not a direct senior from Korea University, as I observed the juniors graduating and stepping out into the world, I hope for nothing but the best for them, and with that sentiment, I conclude my writing.
