During this trip from Osaka to Kyoto, the accommodation in Kyoto was the “Urban Hotel Kyoto.” It is located a bit away from Kyoto Station, but it is close to the Fushimi Inari Shrine.
The reason for choosing this place was the relatively affordable price. The stay cost about 33,000 won per night, including taxes, allowing for a two-night stay for a total of 78,000 won.
“Located near the Fushimi Inari Shrine”
The hotel was located near the Fushimi Inari Shrine. The nearest station for express trains was “Fushimi Inari Station,” and for local trains, “Fukakusa Station” was nearby.
The surrounding area of the hotel had a relatively quiet neighborhood atmosphere. You could find residential areas nearby, and it was an impressive neighborhood with houses along the railway.
“A serene hotel in Kyoto”
Although Kyoto is close to Osaka, it gives a completely different vibe. If Osaka is known for its lively and bustling atmosphere, Kyoto has a serene and relaxed feel, resembling a quiet countryside city.
The hotel reflected this atmosphere. While Osaka has an energetic and bustling atmosphere, Kyoto felt calm and leisurely.
“Good value for money”
Considering the price, the hotel was quite decent. It was a bit away from the center of Kyoto Station, relatively situated on the outskirts, but it was not too far from Kyoto Station, and the space was not too cramped.
“Smartphone provided for free at the hotel”
When visiting hotels in Japan, you often find smartphones provided for free, and Urban Hotel Kyoto was no exception. The smartphone was available for unlimited data usage. Since I already had a rented pocket Wi-Fi, I didn’t need to use the smartphone provided by the hotel.
“Coin laundry and dryer on the 3rd floor”
On the 3rd floor of the hotel, you could find coin-operated laundry machines and dryers. Thanks to this, on the last day, I spent around 400 yen to do the laundry and could neatly pack the clothes I had worn during the trip.
As a hotel where I stayed for two days during my Kyoto trip, it offered good value for money, and I could spend my time there comfortably. Especially on the first day, when we had to stay indoors due to the influence of Typhoon Jami, the spacious environment of the hotel allowed us to spend the day without any inconvenience.
It’s a cost-effective hotel near the Fushimi Inari Shrine.
