In Macao, you can find beef jerky in various places. At Senado Square, there’s a street packed with shops selling beef jerky, and this is known as the Beef Jerky Street of Senado Square.
You can find Beef Jerky Street on the way from Senado Square to the Ruins of St. Paul’s. As you walk along, you’ll come across a signboard for Pui Kei, marking the beginning of Beef Jerky Street.
“Pui Kei: The Start of Macao’s Beef Jerky Street”
Pui Kei is known for its tender and heavily seasoned beef jerky, originating from Singapore. While Pui Kei beef jerky is now easily available in South Korea, you can still experience it in Macao.
As you pass Pui Kei and continue up towards the Ruins of St. Paul’s, you’ll see both sides of the street lined with shops filled with beef jerky, indicating you’ve arrived at Beef Jerky Street.
“Entertaining Acts on Beef Jerky Street”
On Beef Jerky Street, you’ll find people in front of the shops engaging in entertaining acts. I was taken aback when people suddenly started performing in the middle of the street.
This place offers a variety of beef jerky to taste, so if you’re a fan, it’s worth stopping by each shop to sample and purchase different varieties. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn’t taste any beef jerky and had to pass by with a sense of regret.
If I have the opportunity to visit Macao again, I’ll definitely make it a point to try out various types of beef jerky. It’s a place that left me with that thought.
