Singapore, being a place where people live, offers not only local Singaporean food but also cuisines from other countries. In one of the bustling areas of Singapore, “Clarke Quay,” I discovered a shop selling Japanese ice cream, specifically “Hokkaido Ice Cream.”
Considering Singapore’s typical weather, which is hot and humid due to its Southeast Asian climate, encountering an ice cream shop was irresistible.

Azabu Sabo, the Hokkaido Ice Cream shop in Singapore’s Clarke Quay, is located in a small outdoor space near the “Clarke Quay Central” building. The ice cream prices were reasonable, with the smallest size priced at SGD 4.2, approximately 3,400 Korean Won—not overly expensive but not exceptionally cheap either.
I visited with another blogger who came with support from the Singapore Tourism Board. We purchased one to share and get a taste of this Hokkaido Ice Cream.
Although the first food I tried on my visit to Singapore was Japanese Hokkaido Ice Cream, unrelated to Singaporean cuisine, it marked the beginning of my Singapore travel experience.
