Since 1994, Gwanghwamun Pasta Restaurant “Pomodoro”

In the vicinity of Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul, you can find restaurants with a long history. “Pomodoro,” located in an alley to the west of Gwanghwamun Plaza, is also one of those longstanding establishments.

The history of Pomodoro dates back to 1994. It has been in business since then, maintaining its operation for nearly 30 years. It’s a restaurant that has successfully operated for an extended period.

“Pasta Restaurant Pomodoro, Known for its Long Lines”

Pomodoro is known for always having a long line of people, even in Gwanghwamun. The flagship menu item they sell here is “pasta.”

Generally, in places that sell pasta, the atmosphere may be pleasant, but often, customers are left disappointed either due to the taste or portion size. However, at Pomodoro, you won’t be disappointed as they serve generously portioned dishes.

“While the atmosphere may not exude luxury…”

At Pomodoro, it’s not easy to feel the upscale atmosphere typically associated with Italian restaurants. Nevertheless, many people line up to visit this place, and the reason is likely not for the ambiance mentioned above. It’s probably because, despite the atmosphere being akin to having a meal at a snack shop near a school, you can still enjoy a hearty and delicious pasta.

Although prices have gone up due to inflation, you can still order a meal for between KRW 18,000 and KRW 20,000. This makes it a place with good value for money. It’s likely that this aspect contributes to making this restaurant a longstanding favorite.
