Seoul Sillim Station Cafe, Starbucks Sillim Intersection Branch

On July 27, 1999, Starbucks landed in South Korea by opening its first branch in front of Ewha Womans University. In the early days, there was controversy due to the coffee being more expensive than a meal. However, now Starbucks has firmly established itself in South Korea. It has become a global company following in the footsteps of McDonald’s, creating a new global index called the Starbucks Index, following the Big Mac Index.

You can now find Starbucks all over Seoul, as easily as convenience stores. There are three Starbucks locations around Seoul’s Sillim Station.

One inside the Podo Mall connected to Sillim Station, one across from Podo Mall called the Sillim Intersection branch, and one a bit further north from the station known as the “Simrim branch.”

Among these, you can find the Starbucks Sillim Intersection branch right in front of Exit 8 of Sillim Station on Subway Line 2. The store consists of two floors. The first floor takes up only a small space with the counter and entrance, making it look like a small store. However, if you go up to the second floor, you’ll find a reasonably spacious area.

“A Spacious and Open Atmosphere at Starbucks”

When you go up to the second floor, the atmosphere completely changes. The second floor occupies quite a bit of space, providing a spacious and open feeling. There are seats by the windows on the second floor where you can look out onto the main road through the glass.

Thanks to this, you can spend time sitting by the window, enjoying the view outside. It’s a place where you can sit at the cafe, have a cup of coffee, and gaze out the window, creating a rather pleasant atmosphere.

Located close to Sillim Station, it is a Starbucks with good accessibility. Since it is near Seoul National University, it is a place where you can often find many students.
