Seoul Nonhyeon Station Affordable Restaurant ‘Banpo Kimchi Stew’

When visiting the vicinity of Gangnam Station or Nonhyeon Station in Seoul, finding a place to eat can be challenging. These areas might lack information about good restaurants, and since the Gangnam area is often visited alone, finding a place for a simple meal is not always easy.

I found myself near Nonhyeon Station for work, and as lunchtime approached, I debated where to eat. After a quick search, I discovered a unique restaurant nearby offering an unusual combination of dishes.

“Seoul Nonhyeon Station Affordable Restaurant, Banpo Kimchi Stew”

The restaurant named ‘Banpo Kimchi Stew’ is located very close to Nonhyeon Station. It’s so close, in fact, that it takes about 30 seconds to walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 1.

This place is particularly well-known in the Nonhyeon Station area for its good cost-effectiveness. Despite considering the cost of living in the Nonhyeon Station area, the prices here are relatively low, and the portions are generous.

“Kimchi Stew + Pork Cutlet Set: KRW 9,000”

This restaurant offers a unique combination. Typically, kimchi stew and pork cutlet are not sold together, but this place combines these seemingly unrelated dishes into a set menu called ‘KimDon Set,’ priced at KRW 9,000, which is relatively inexpensive.

Of course, for those who only want kimchi stew or just pork cutlet, they also sell them separately:

  • Kimchi Stew: KRW 7,000
  • Pork Cutlet: KRW 11,000
  • KimDon Set: KRW 9,000

“All processes are self-service”

To keep prices low, all processes are self-service. Payments can be made at the kiosk near the entrance, and you need to pick up your food when it’s ready. Returning the dishes after the meal is also a self-service task. Despite these efforts, the inconvenience is minimal considering the affordable prices.

One might worry that low prices could mean compromising on taste or portion size, but that’s not the case here. The food is quite tasty, and both the kimchi stew and pork cutlet are generous. Even as someone who tends to eat a lot during meals, I found the portions satisfying.

For those looking for a cost-effective place to dine near Nonhyeon Station, particularly if you’re dining alone, this is a great spot. The location is convenient, being near Nonhyeon Station.
