“Seoul Jongno Cafe – Starbucks The Jongno R Store”

In July 27, 1999, Starbucks landed in South Korea with its first store opening in front of Ewha Womans University. Initially sparking controversy due to coffee prices higher than a meal, Starbucks has now firmly established its presence in South Korea. It has evolved into a global company, following in the footsteps of McDonald’s, creating a new global index, the Starbucks Index, alongside the Big Mac Index.

Nowadays, Starbucks stores are easily found in major urban areas of South Korean cities. Particularly in Seoul’s central districts, you can observe multiple Starbucks locations densely packed.

“Starbucks Flagship Store – Starbucks The Jongno R Store”

Starbucks The Jongno R Store is known as a store that consolidates all of Starbucks’ know-how, evolving continuously as a space for diverse culture rather than just a place for selling coffee. The store is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of Jongno Tower, boasting a significant size with approximately 52 pyeong (1st floor) and 280 pyeong (2nd floor), totaling an area of 332 pyeong. This makes it a notably large store, slightly larger than the previously largest store, Cheonho Rodeo Store. However, since the opening of Starbucks The Yangpyeong DTR Store on July 24, 2020, breaking the record for the largest store in Korea, The Jongno R Store now stands as the largest Starbucks store in Seoul.

“2nd Floor Size – Seoul’s Largest Starbucks Store”

Starbucks The Jongno R Store is the largest Starbucks store in Seoul. Visiting the store allows you to experience the vast space that extends endlessly on the 2nd floor. Despite having ample seating due to its spacious layout, the store is consistently bustling with people. Even during less busy times like weekday afternoons, a significant number of people occupied the seats.

With its extensive space, various types of seating are available. The store includes table-style seating, areas with comfortable sofas for leisurely moments, and spots with a view outside. Depending on personal preference, visitors can choose their preferred seat and spend their time accordingly.

With its unique and special charm, the store exudes an exceptional appeal, making it worth a visit if you find yourself near Jongno Tower.
