Seoul Jamsil Lotte World Mall Gomtang Restaurant “Suha-dong Gomtang”

In Seoul, there is a very famous Gomtang (beef bone soup) restaurant, and that is none other than Hadongkwan, which has been passed down for four generations. This place has been in operation since the Japanese colonial era, and its history continues to this day.

Located in Myeongdong, it has several branches. In the past, it operated under the name “Hadongkwan” but relatively recently, due to various circumstances, it changed its name to “Suha-dong.” (You can still find Hadongkwan in Myeongdong.)

You can also find Suha-dong Gomtang in Jamsil. It is located in Jamsil Lotte World Mall, and you can find it in “Seoul Seoul 3080,” which reproduces the streets of modern and old Seoul.

“Seoul 3080” can be found on the 5th and 6th floors of Lotte World Mall, and among them, “Suha-dong” is on the 5th floor. It is a restaurant that can be easily found right next to the tram at the entrance to “Seoul 3080.”

Suha-dong Gomtang is considered a “must-visit restaurant” due to its long history. However, the price here is relatively higher compared to other Gomtang restaurants.

Even the basic Gomtang here costs 14,000 KRW, which may feel a bit unsatisfying in terms of quantity for an adult male. For hearty eaters, it seems that you should at least order the special Gomtang menu, which is priced at 17,000 KRW. The menu at Suha-dong is as follows. (The prices are based on 2021 and may have increased since then.)

  • Gomtang: 14,000 KRW
  • Special Gomtang: 17,000 KRW
  • Special Meat Only: 18,000 KRW
  • Special Intestines Only: 17,000 KRW
  • More: 25,000 KRW
  • Even More: 30,000 KRW
  • Suyuk (180g): 40,000 KRW
  • Suyuk (300g): 60,000 KRW

“Gomtang: 14,000 KRW”

During this visit, due to budget considerations, I ordered the most basic menu, which is Gomtang. At 14,000 KRW per bowl, it is relatively pricey. Personally, I tend to eat a lot, and even though I had finished my meal, I still felt a bit hungry.

Since Gomtang itself is a dish that is easily digested, for hearty eaters, it would be a good idea to order a version with more meat, even if it costs a bit more.

While the portion size left a little to be desired, it is a place where you can enjoy a clean and simple bowl of Gomtang in a clean and neat atmosphere. It’s a good place to visit if you’re looking for a tasty meal.
