Seoul Gwanghwamun Cafe “Ediya Coffee”

The Gwanghwamun area in Seoul is a representative hub of offices. It houses various government buildings, including the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as well as headquarters of several newspapers and major corporations. It’s a place where you can find a wide range of restaurants and cafes.

In particular, in the Gwanghwamun area, you can find a diverse range of cafes, from franchise cafes like Starbucks to independently operated ones, and even mid-range franchise cafes, all in one place.

“Mid-Range Franchise Cafe, Ediya Coffee”

Ediya Coffee can be considered a representative franchise of mid-range coffee brands. The prices are relatively affordable compared to large franchise cafes like Starbucks. While Ediya Coffee used to be known for its image as a low-cost brand cafe, as more even more affordable franchise cafes have emerged recently, it has come to be perceived as a mid-range brand.

“Ediya Coffee Gwanghwamun Branch”

You can also find Ediya Coffee in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul. It is located west of Gwanghwamun Plaza. It’s so close to the exit that you could say it’s right in front of Exit 8 of Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5.

The store is spread over two floors. On the first floor, you can place orders through a kiosk, and there are some seats available. Going up to the second floor, you can see even more seats. After finishing lunch, if you drop by the cafe, you’ll likely see many office workers enjoying coffee and chatting.

“In addition to coffee, you can taste a variety of menu items at Ediya Coffee”

While Ediya Coffee primarily sells coffee, you can find many unique and special menu items beyond coffee at this place. While you can commonly find coffee in other cafes, the drinks offered here are something you may not easily come across elsewhere. The prices are also quite reasonable, making it a good place to spend time sipping a cup of tea at a moderate cost.

However, since Ediya Coffee is located in a highly populated area where people frequently pass by, it tends to be crowded with a lot of people. This can make it relatively challenging to secure seats.
