Nara Park Bus Terminal Souvenir Shop

On the first floor of the Nara Park Bus Terminal West Building, easily found just east of the Nara Prefectural Office, you’ll discover a sizable souvenir shop. With its well-maintained premises, this shop offers a fitting place to explore and purchase mementos after touring Nara Park.

After ascending the Nara Prefectural Office Observatory for a high-altitude view of Nara Park, heading toward the Nara Bus Terminal, I stumbled upon this souvenir shop. If you’ve visited souvenir shops during your travels, it’s almost a given to explore one, especially in a location as captivating as Nara.

Curiosity naturally led me to peruse what souvenirs Nara had to offer. As Nara Park is renowned for its deer, many products prominently featured these creatures. Among my most memorable experiences in Nara were encounters with deer enjoying senbei (rice crackers), and the souvenir shop ingeniously echoed this sentiment.

“Deer Eating Senbei Doll”

Seemingly attuned to my sentiments, the souvenir shop was selling dolls depicting deer eating senbei. Available in both large and small sizes, with prices around 3,500 yen and 2,000 yen, respectively. Considering the practicality of carrying a larger doll during the ongoing journey and my reluctance to invest 3,500 yen in a doll, I opted for the smaller one priced at around 2,000 yen.

“Nara Coffee”

While unfamiliar with Nara’s local delicacies, I noticed coffee featuring illustrations of Nara’s deer. Recognizing coffee as a safe and versatile souvenir, I decided to add a pack to my collection.

“Matcha Ice Cream”

The souvenir shop also offered edible delights. Matcha ice cream was on the menu, priced at around 350 yen. While available at other stores within Nara Park, I seized the opportunity to taste it alongside my souvenir purchases.

Situated at the Nara Park Bus Terminal, this souvenir shop serves as an ideal stop for acquiring mementos before departing on your journey back.
