At Bulgwang Station in Seoul, you can find the “NC Department Store” operated by the E-Land Group. It stands as a longstanding landmark in the heart of Eunpyeong-gu.

Within NC Department Store, on the B1 and 9th floors, you can find a dining area. Due to the impact of COVID-19, it appeared that, aside from “Honey Don,” “Chak Handa Bang,” and “Gong Cha,” all other restaurants in the B1 dining area were temporarily closed.

The only restaurant you can find on the B1 floor of NC Department Store is “Honey Don.” Although small in size, it offers reasonably priced dishes, which may be one of the reasons for its survival.

The menu at Honey Don includes dishes like Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Bibim Guksu (mixed noodles), Myeolchi Guksu (anchovy noodles), Kkoma Kimbap (mini rice rolls), and Twigim (fried food), each priced between 1,000 to 2,000 KRW. These prices are quite rare to find in this day and age.

Considering the affordable prices, I decided to order two items for dinner. Even with three items in total, the cost was only 6,000 KRW.

“Tangsuyuk, Tteokbokki, Bibim Guksu”

The dishes I ordered this time were Tangsuyuk, Tteokbokki, and Bibim Guksu, each priced at 2,000 KRW. They were all reasonably priced and provided a satisfying taste experience.

Among them, the dish with the best value for money was the “Tangsuyuk.”. Despite its low price of 2,000 KRW, the portion was surprisingly generous.

On the other hand, “Tteokbokki” may be considered as the dish with less value for money. While the taste was not bad, for a similar price to Tangsuyuk, it should have had a larger portion. Surprisingly, it had a smaller portion.

Although there was concern about the portion size for a combination of 2,000 KRW dishes, after finishing all three, I found that the portions were sufficient.

Located on the B1 floor of NC Department Store at Bulgwang Station, this restaurant offers budget-friendly dining options and is popular among people. Especially, it was noticeable that even people of considerable age were enjoying their meals here. Overall, it is a restaurant with excellent value for money.
