16th Street Hanok Cafe by the Mulwang Lake in Siheung

At the border of Ansan and Siheung, there lies a reservoir known as Water King Reservoir. Unlike artificial lakes like Gwanggyo Lake Park in Suwon or Ilsan Lake Park, this park exudes a natural ambiance. It’s a tranquil place ideal for leisurely strolls. In the past, it was referred to as Heungbu Reservoir, and there’s a story that President Lee Seung-man created a private fishing spot here in the late 1950s, frequently visiting the area.

“Diverse Restaurants and Cafes near Water King Reservoir”

As with other lake parks, you can find a variety of restaurants and cafes near Water King Reservoir. Various establishments line the vicinity of the reservoir. 16th Street Hanok Cafe is one such cafe that you can explore near Water King Reservoir.

“Hanok Cafe near the Lakeside Park”

A place I briefly visited while leisurely walking around the lakeside park, this cafe stands out with its traditional Korean hanok-style architecture. The interior is also decorated in a hanok style, giving it a somewhat more comfortable feel compared to other cafes.

“A Cozy Atmosphere at the Hanok Cafe”

During the late evening visit, the atmosphere may not be as distinct, but in the daytime, you can experience a clearer sense of the traditional hanok setting.

It’s a great place to spend leisurely time over a cup of tea. Once again, I visited Water King Reservoir on the border of Siheung and Ansan, taking a stroll and stopping by a nearby cafe to relax.

Inside the cafe, you can choose from various seating options, and there are outdoor spaces as well. On a good weather day, enjoying time outdoors amidst nature can be especially delightful.

This cafe near the lakeside park offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an impressive spot.
