Yeouido Dining District: The Hyundai Seoul – Tasty Seoul

In Seoul’s Yeouido district, there is a flagship store of Hyundai Department Store called “The Hyundai Seoul.” Opened on February 26, 2021, it boasts a retail space of 27,000 square meters, making it the largest single-building department store in Seoul and the seventh largest in the nation.

“The Hyundai Seoul” is the 16th store introduced by Hyundai Department Store after the Pangyo branch in 2015. It is also a place where Chairman Jeong Ji-sun of Hyundai Department Store Group expressed his ambition to make “The Hyundai Seoul” the top landmark in South Korea and elevate the group’s status.

“The Hyundai Seoul B1: Tasty Seoul”

“The Hyundai Seoul” is divided into different concepts on each floor. As a department store, you can naturally find a dining district in “B1” and “6th floor.”

On the 6th floor, there is an indoor yet open-air-like space where you can find various dining options. Meanwhile, on the B1 floor, “Tasty Seoul” operates as a restaurant in a format similar to a food truck.

Of course, on the B1 floor, in addition to “Tasty Seoul,” there are independent dining spaces where you can enjoy a variety of luxury desserts such as bakeries, rice cake shops, and cakes all in one place.

“A Place to Taste a Variety of World Cuisines”

“Tasty Seoul” operates in a food court format. It is designed in a way that allows you to taste a variety of world cuisines at reasonable prices in one place within “The Hyundai Seoul.” You can find many designs resembling “food trucks.”

The menu includes various options such as Korean, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines. Based on the counter, the following restaurants have set up shop. (In addition, there are other independent restaurants as well.)

  • Donkatsu 1985
  • Dol Jang Gak
  • Jeju Sun Bibim
  • Ondrean
  • Mei Wu
  • Hansol Naengmyeon

Orders can be placed through kiosks, and notifications can be received via KakaoTalk, eliminating the need for a separate buzzer.

If you happen to visit Yeouido, especially “The Hyundai Seoul,” it’s a great place for a meal.
