World Scout Jamboree in Korea: Homestay Ambassador Recruitment

The “2023 World Scout Jamboree” will be held in Saemangeum, South Korea from August 1st to August 12th, 2023. This Jamboree event, with participation from over 170 countries and more than 43,000 individuals, is the largest international event since the COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected to be the biggest in history.

In addition to the main event, delegations and participants from various countries will take part in a range of cultural experiences before and after the Jamboree. Specifically, the “Netherlands Jamboree Organization” will participate in homestay cultural experiences from July 27th to 30th and from August 13th to 16th, surrounding the main event.

“Netherlands Jamboree: Youth Cultural Ambassadors, Homestay Recruitment”

Cultural experiences with the Netherlands Jamboree group will be facilitated through “Homestay Korea.” They will offer homestays to Dutch youth (middle and high school students) visiting the “2023 World Scout Jamboree,” recruiting youth cultural ambassadors to introduce Korean culture.

English will be the official language during the homestay period. Prior to the homestay, participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other through social media exchanges with their assigned foreign buddy. During the homestay period, they will stay with their foreign buddy in a host family’s home, forming friendships through activities and cultural experiences, and serving as practical diplomatic envoys introducing Korean culture.

Cultural experiences will be conducted autonomously, featuring diverse and creative content such as trying on hanboks, making Korean food together, experiencing traditional games, and writing letters in Korean.

The available application dates are the first round on July 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th, and the second round on August 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th. Multiple applications are also allowed. Guest assignments can range from a minimum of 2 people to a maximum of 6 people.
