Starbucks at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Seoul

In the location where the Seoul Dongdaemun Stadium once stood, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) now stands tall. DDP, short for “Dongdaemun Design Plaza,” was constructed after the demolition of Dongdaemun Stadium in 2007 and began in 2008, opening its doors in March 2014 after six years.

Designed by the renowned British architect Zaha Hadid, DDP serves as an exhibition space and shopping mall. It is globally recognized as the largest 3D irregular structure.

Within the underground of DDP, various amenities await. It houses a variety of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and more. Among these, you can find a Starbucks, a familiar sight from bustling areas. The Starbucks in Dongdaemun Design Plaza goes by the name “Starbucks Dongdaemun Design Plaza.”

“A Starbucks Space Offering Starbucks’ Distinctive Clean and Cozy Ambiance”

The Starbucks located in Dongdaemun Design Plaza maintains a similar atmosphere and interior design to other Starbucks outlets.

The atmosphere leans towards a brighter side, with the lighting tone and furniture colors giving off a slightly brighter feel. Despite being located underground, the space feels less dim due to the strategic placement of bright lighting and furnishings, overcoming the potential drawback of its location.

The space is relatively spacious, ensuring that even with a considerable number of people, it doesn’t feel overly cramped. It is a convenient and accessible cafe within Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
