Even in Singapore, you can still explore British culture, a diverse heritage from the colonial era. The British developed a strong culture of tea consumption, and to this day, it’s common in the UK to have multiple tea times throughout the day.
Among them, the most well-known tea time is “Afternoon Tea,” which is usually held during lunch and dinner hours.

“TWG: Offering Singapore’s Tea Time”
In Singapore, there are several places where you can enjoy tea time, and one of the most easily accessible is the renowned tea store, “TWG.” If you visit in the afternoon, you can enjoy tea time with scones.
“Singapore Orchard Road, Ngee Ann City, TWG Store”
On this day, I visited the “TWG” store to indulge in tea time. The TWG store is located on the 2nd floor of Ngee Ann City, a shopping mall on Orchard Road.

I visited around 2:30 to 3:00 PM, and fortunately, there were almost no people waiting in line. I could immediately occupy a seat and have tea time without waiting.
“Variety of Teas Offered by TWG”
TWG offers an extensive range of tea varieties. Looking at the menu filled with the names of various teas, it was challenging to know which one to choose. So, I sought the recommendations of the staff and ordered any tea they suggested.
Drinking tea on-site was delightful, but unfortunately, I couldn’t recall precisely which tea I had. It was a bit regrettable.
“TWG’s Afternoon Tea Set”
If you visit TWG in the afternoon, you can order the Afternoon Tea Set. The set includes a pot of tea and around two scones or sandwiches, and I chose the scones.
The set price is approximately 20 Singapore dollars, equivalent to about 16,000 won in Korean currency. It may not be very cheap, but considering the leisurely time spent, and the fact that the staff serves everything, including service, it’s a reasonable price.
During this time, I could relax, relieve travel fatigue, and enjoy a moment of leisure while recovering my energy. Drinking tea in the afternoon, taking a break, and recovering energy were essential to continue my journey actively. Although it would have been better to visit with close friends, traveling alone made it the only option, and that was a bit disappointing.
