Seoul’s Top 3 Sundae Gukbap Restaurants: Cheongwaok in Jamsil

Among the top three sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup with rice) restaurants in Seoul, which include Euljiro Cheongwaok, Yaksu Sundae Gukbap, Seolleung Nongmin Baegam Sundae, Yeongdeungpo Samgeori Meonjimak Sundae Gukbap, and Seoil Sundae Gukbap, Cheongwaok is consistently recognized as one of the top 3 sundae gukbap restaurants.

“Cheongwaok, Found Throughout Seoul”

While Cheongwaok has its main branch in Euljiro, it can also be found as a franchise restaurant in various locations throughout Seoul. It can be found in Jamsil, located south of Seokchon Lake in Jamsil, too.

While the main branch is in Euljiro, as it is operated as a chain restaurant, you can expect similar quality at other branches.

“Featured on ‘Nolmyeonwohani'”

Cheongwaok was also featured on the show ‘Nolmyeonwohani.’ In episode 94, Yoo Bon-jang, the CEO of Muhan Sangsa (Yoo Jae-suk), visited Cheongwaok’s Euljiro branch and was seen enjoying a hearty bowl of sundae gukbap. As it’s a popular restaurant with long lines, it naturally garnered media attention.

Passing by any Cheongwaok branch, you’ll often see long lines forming during meal times, and the Jamsil branch is no exception.

Fortunately, a waiting system is in place where you can receive notifications via KakaoTalk or text message, allowing you to know how many groups are ahead of you. While you can’t know the exact wait time, you can estimate based on the teams waiting in front of you.

“Pyeonbaek Set Menu for 14,000 KRW”

At Cheongwaok, you can choose to order just the sundae gukbap or opt for the Pyeonbaek set menu. When ordering just the sundae gukbap, the regular size is typically 9,000 KRW, and the large size is 11,000 KRW.

The Pyeonbaek set menu is priced at 14,000 KRW for the regular size and 16,000 KRW for the large size. While it may be relatively pricey, it includes sundae and suyuk in addition to the sundae gukbap, offering a hearty meal.

“On Clean and Cozy Atmosphere”

The restaurant is not overly spacious but not too small either, with around 10-15 tables available. While the scale isn’t large, the interior is clean and gives off a luxurious vibe. It’s a place where you can enjoy a satisfying meal not only for its taste but also for its pleasant atmosphere.
