The representative menu items at Ubang Jeongyuk Sikdang are “Mok Samgyeopsal” (neck pork) and “Yukhoe” (beef tartare). It has the feel of an old, neighborhood restaurant, and perhaps that’s why the owner, the ajumma (middle-aged lady), is known for being very friendly. She often engages in various conversations while you’re having your meal, and sometimes even gives advice on how to enjoy grilling the meat.

“3 Delicious Ways to Eat Mok Samgyeopsal”

Since it’s your first time here, she’ll start by showing you how to grill the meat. There are three recommended ways to enjoy it, and after trying them all, you can choose the one you like best.

  1. Chop the meat and eat it.
  2. Wrap the chopped meat in lettuce.
  3. Dip it in the sesame oil sauce.

There’s also a knack for grilling the meat – turn it over to prevent it from sticking to the grill. Don’t flip it too many times; wait until one side is completely cooked, then flip it to cook the other side.

“One Plate of Yukhoe & Bibimbap”

This place is famous not only for its meat but also for its Yukhoe. A plate of Yukhoe costs 10,000 won and is thinly sliced like a salad. When you order Yukhoe, it comes with both pear and seaweed. You can generously wrap the Yukhoe in seaweed, add some pear, and enjoy it. Any remaining Yukhoe can be mixed into the Bibimbap for a delicious meal.

This restaurant offers unique dishes that you won’t find elsewhere, making it worth a visit if you’re curious about new flavors. While it may be a bit inconvenient to reach due to its location in a residential area, it’s a restaurant that boasts flavors worth remembering.
