Seoul Sadang Station Bookstore: ‘Youngpoong Bookstore’

Youngpoong Bookstore is a bookstore brand in South Korea, alongside Bandi & Luni’s, and is operated by Youngpoong Bookstore Co., Ltd.

Established on May 1, 1992, as an affiliate of Kyobo Group, it later solidified its position as the second-largest offline bookstore in Korea. The headquarters is located in Seorin-dong, Jonggak Station.

Currently, it has become a bookstore that can be found in major areas nationwide, including “Yeouido IFC” and “COEX Starfield.”

Sadang Station is an area with a high flow of people, almost serving as a hub of transportation. Therefore, even near Sadang Station, you can find large bookstores.

“Sadang Station Bookstore: Pastel City Youngpoong Bookstore”

Youngpoong Bookstore is located on the basement 2nd floor of the Pastel City building and is connected to Sadang Station underground. If you walk in the direction of exits 9, 10, 11, or 12 of Sadang Station, you can find a passage leading to Youngpoong Bookstore, making it easily accessible.

“Formerly Occupied by Bandi & Luni’s”

Youngpoong Bookstore in Sadang Station opened in January 2020. Previously, this space was occupied by the bookstore “Bandi & Luni’s,” but it was replaced by Youngpoong Bookstore.

The overall atmosphere doesn’t differ significantly from other Youngpoong Bookstore branches. It’s structured to allow browsing of stationery, music albums, and books. Although it occupies almost an entire floor, compared to other larger stores, it may feel slightly smaller.

“Various Sculptures to Explore at Youngpoong Bookstore”

Additionally, at Youngpoong Bookstore Sadang Branch, you can find unique sculptures on display. You can see stone statues throughout the store that resemble something you might find in medieval Europe, giving it a quaint and distinctive atmosphere compared to other bookstores.

While it may be a small detail, the presence of these sculptures gives a nostalgic and special feeling. Thanks to this, Youngpoong Bookstore Sadang Station Branch might leave a more memorable impression.

Located in the heart of Seoul’s transportation network at Sadang Station, it’s a great bookstore to visit for shopping books and stationery.
