Seoul Gwanghwamun Snack Restaurant “Seoul Kimbap”

The Gwanghwamun area in Seoul is a prominent office-dense district. It’s home to government buildings like the Seoul Metropolitan Government, headquarters of various newspapers, and the offices of major corporations. During lunchtime, you can observe numerous office workers heading out to grab a meal.

In the Gwanghwamun area, you can find a variety of restaurants, ranging from franchise establishments to small privately-owned ones. It’s safe to say there’s almost no shortage of menu options in this area.

“Elevated Kimbap Experience”

These days, specialized kimbap restaurants like “Kimbap Heaven” are relatively less common compared to the past. So, stumbling upon a restaurant that specializes in kimbap can be quite delightful. Seoul Kimbap is a snack restaurant located near Exit 1 of Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5. It’s situated along the street when you exit towards the west from Gwanghwamun Station. Together with the adjacent restaurant “Ttokkam,” it’s always bustling with many people during lunchtime.

The menu at Seoul Kimbap includes items like kimbap, ramen, and tteokbokki, which are typical snack foods. You have the option to dine in the restaurant or get your order packed to go.

During this visit, we opted for takeout. We ordered various types of kimbap and a dish of stir-fried rice cakes with ramen. Perhaps due to recent increases in prices, the kimbap here is relatively expensive. The menu includes options like kimbap, ramen, snack items, and set menus. With such a diverse selection, it’s better to consult the menu, which can be conveniently viewed through photos.

“Substantial Kimbap”

The price per roll of kimbap here is relatively high. The most basic kimbap is priced at 3,500 won, while the most expensive one goes up to 6,500 won, making it almost the cost of a full meal. However, the kimbap is generously filled, providing an enjoyable experience with its hearty contents.

Recently, kimbap restaurants have been adopting a more sophisticated atmosphere. Seoul Kimbap is one of these establishments that has embraced this trend. While it may be slightly pricier for kimbap, it’s a great place to enjoy a clean and satisfying meal.
