Seoul Gasan Digital Complex Chinese Restaurant: ‘Myeongga Gyodong Jjamppong’

Gyodong refers to an area where a Confucian school (hyanggyo) was once located. However, since most cities had a hyanggyo, the name Gyodong is quite common. It is speculated that the Gyodong in Gyodong Jjamppong is derived from “Gangneung-si Gyodong,” which is a district in Gangneung, Gangwon Province. Gyodong Jjamppong is known for its unique spicy flavor.

Nowadays, you can enjoy Gyodong Jjamppong without having to visit Gangneung, Gangwon Province. You can find restaurants with the sign “Gyodong Jjamppong” all over Seoul.
