McDonald’s Myeongdong Branch in Seoul

McDonald’s is a prominent multinational fast-food franchise that originated in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It has become synonymous with fast-food burgers and is a trademark symbolizing American capitalism and globalization, alongside companies like Coca-Cola and Apple.

Having expanded worldwide, McDonald’s even created a concept called the “Big Mac Index” to calculate inflation based on the price of their signature menu item, the “Big Mac,” showcasing the immense impact the company has on the global economy.

“Myeongdong Arts Theater Adjacent McDonald’s Store”

You can find a McDonald’s store in major cities around the world, and Myeongdong, one of the bustling districts in Seoul, is no exception. There are two McDonald’s locations in Myeongdong. Originally, there was only one, but relatively recently, another one was added. One is situated near Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, and the other is closer to “Myeongdong Station.”

The one I’m introducing this time is the branch located near “Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station.”

“Myeongdong Branch: McDonald’s”

You can find the McDonald’s Myeongdong branch near the Myeongdong Arts Theater. If you follow the alley next to the theater, you’ll find it right away. The store consists of just one floor, and it’s of moderate size, not too spacious, but not too cramped either.

Myeongdong is especially popular among foreign tourists, so you can often see many foreigners having meals at McDonald’s Myeongdong branch. McDonald’s is known as a convenient place to visit, especially when traveling abroad. Since the taste of McDonald’s food in Korea and in foreign countries is almost identical, it’s a good option for those who may not find local cuisine to their liking. This might be one of the reasons why it’s easy to spot foreigners at McDonald’s Myeongdong branch.

“You Can Order Through the Kiosk.”

There’s a kiosk installed at McDonald’s Myeongdong branch. It offers both Korean and English, so it’s convenient for foreigners to set it in English and place their orders.

“Great for Solo Dining at McDonald’s Myeongdong Branch”

Personally, McDonald’s is a commonly used place for solo dining, especially when you have to eat out alone. In particular, Myeongdong is one of Seoul’s major tourist spots, and it’s often difficult to find a suitable place for dining alone. In such cases, McDonald’s stands out as an advantage, allowing you to have a meal without feeling uncomfortable even when dining alone.

Furthermore, the Myeongdong area is considered relatively expensive in Seoul. Therefore, McDonald’s provides a relatively affordable option for dining in Myeongdong.

Whether you want a quick solo meal or a reliable dining option no matter where you travel in the world, you can find a McDonald’s store, even in Myeongdong.
