Isaac Toast in Gwanghwamun, Seoul

Isaac Toast is a well-known toast franchise in South Korea, often considered one of the most prominent in the toast business. With over 820 stores across the country, it’s a brand easily found in various locations.

The name is derived from the biblical figure Isaac, and the English spelling, “Isaac,” reflects this origin. If you look at the toast packaging, you may find a Bible verse featuring Isaac:

  • “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold because the Lord blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.”
    • Genesis 26:12-13

“Isaac Toast near Gwanghwamun Square”

Isaac Toast can also be found in the Gwanghwamun area, very close to Gwanghwamun Square. It’s conveniently located near Exit 8 of Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5. Follow the alley next to the Sejong Cultural Center, and you’ll discover it on your way to Gwanghwamun Square.

There’s a KFC store next to it, and similar to most Isaac Toast stores, it’s relatively smaller compared to the adjacent KFC. As a result, many customers prefer takeaway, and a table is provided in front of the store for those who wish to enjoy their meal on the spot.

“Takeaway-Focused Store”

Even for takeaway, finding a nearby place to sit and eat is not challenging. Gwanghwamun Square has tables and chairs scattered throughout.

After purchasing toast from Isaac Toast for takeaway, you can easily find a spot to sit and have a quick meal at Gwanghwamun Square, just a 2-3 minute walk away.

However, influenced by the overall rise in prices, Isaac Toast has become relatively more expensive. The basic toast prices start at around 3,000 won, making it relatively pricey for a toast.
