In the heart of Central Hong Kong, you’ll find the “IFC” building. “IFC” stands for “International Finance Centre,” which translates to “국제 금융센터” in Korean.
Nowadays, you can also find an “IFC” building in Yeouido, Seoul, Korea. Additionally, there’s an IFC Mall located in the same building.
“IFC Mall in Central Hong Kong”
In Hong Kong, you can find the IFC Mall, which occupies the 1st and 4th floors of the IFC building. While it doesn’t allocate a vast amount of commercial space, the building itself is quite substantial, and it seamlessly connects to other structures, making it feel quite expansive.
“A Commercial Hub Hosting Various Luxury Brands”
IFC Mall, within the IFC building, serves as a prominent commercial area where you can find a diverse range of luxury brands, along with restaurants and cafes. Franchise restaurants like Shake Shack can be found here. Although not located within the IFC building, the MRT shopping area adjacent to IFC Mall also houses renowned establishments like Tim Ho Wan.
“Outdoor Views on the 4th Floor of IFC Mall”
On the 4th floor, you’ll discover an outdoor garden area. From here, you can admire the view of Victoria Harbour.
During my initial visit to Central Hong Kong, it was raining, but the weather cleared up shortly after. This allowed me to enjoy clear skies and take in the view of Hong Kong from the IFC building.
“Currency Museum and Observation Deck on the 55th Floor”
On the 55th floor of the IFC building, you can find a currency museum. However, it’s more famously known as a free observation deck. The currency museum is only open on weekdays and closed on weekends.
During my first visit to IFC Mall, it was a weekend, so I couldn’t explore the currency museum. However, on a later day when I was heading to Macau, I quickly visited the museum and enjoyed the view from the observation deck.
“The Building That Featured in the Movie ‘Tomb Raider 2′”
The Hong Kong IFC building also served as a backdrop in the movie ‘Tomb Raider 2,’ where Angelina Jolie performed a mid-air leap from the structure.
