Food Court “Food Empire” at Yeouido IFC Mall, Seoul

In Yeouido, Seoul, you can find the “Seoul International Finance Center,” a building named “IFC SEOUL.” In English, it is known as the “International Finance Centre Seoul.”

The IFC complex consists of four buildings: One IFC, Two IFC, Three IFC, and Conrad Seoul Hotel. IFC is an abbreviation for International Finance Center, serving as an international business district and shopping mall in Yeouido. It was the first international finance center constructed in South Korea and the third one built in Seoul.

“IFC MALL”

“IFC MALL” is a space filled with various commercial facilities, as the name suggests. The building is located underground, spanning from the first basement floor to the third basement floor.

Despite being underground, the ceilings are made of glass, creating the illusion of being above ground. Tenants include CGV Yeouido, Youngpoong Bookstore, ZARA, UNIQLO, MANGO, and the Apple Store.

While you can find individual restaurants on the third basement floor of IFC Mall, there’s also a food court named “Food Empire.”

At Food Empire, you can explore a variety of franchise restaurants offering Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisines. While the prices are relatively affordable compared to other restaurants within IFC Mall, it’s worth noting that Yeouido is considered an expensive area in Seoul, making the prices slightly higher compared to restaurants in other regions.

The following restaurants are located in Food Empire (though there may be slight changes):

  • Myeongdong Kalguksu (Korean knife-cut noodle soup)
  • Namsan Wang Donkatsu (Namsan King-sized pork cutlet)
  • Changjindong Sundubu (soft tofu stew)
  • Vietnam Ssalguksu PHO (Vietnamese rice noodle soup)
  • Burger Hunter
  • Coastal Restaurant

“Costs Approximately 10,000 to 20,000 KRW per Person”

For a single person, you can expect to spend around 10,000 KRW or more for a meal. There are also slightly cheaper menu options available for less than 10,000 KRW.

The place is nicely decorated, creating a cozy atmosphere. As it is in a food court format, it’s a great spot for dining alone, commonly referred to as “honor dining” in Korean.
