In the vicinity of Gwanghwamun in Seoul, you can find various cafes, big and small. From large franchise cafes like Starbucks and Hollys Coffee to mid-range brands like Ediya, and even small, independently-run cafes with unique charm, you can discover a diverse range of cafes in the Gwanghwamun area.

“Seoul Gyeongbokgung Station Cafe: Made in Seochon”

Located right in front of Exit 3-1 of Gyeongbokgung Station, “Made in Seochon” is a small cafe that you can find in the Gwanghwamun area. It’s more of a privately-run, modest-sized cafe rather than a large chain.

Despite its small size, it’s conveniently situated, making it a cafe that might not immediately catch your eye. Even if you’ve passed by Gyeongbokgung Station several times, you might not have noticed this cafe. I happened to spot it by chance and decided to give it a try.

If I were to describe “Made in Seochon” in a few words, it would be a “small and quaint cafe.” From the narrow entrance, it gives off a feeling of entering a hidden treasure trove.

Upon opening the cafe door, you’ll find a cozy space akin to a small hideaway. On one side, you can see various plants on display. It seems that the cafe owner not only serves coffee but also nurtures plants and creates dried flower arrangements, perhaps as a side venture.
