CJ Gourmet Bridge: Culinary Hub in Seoul’s Jamsil Area

The Jamsil Station area in Seoul is undoubtedly one of the city’s prominent commercial districts. Starting from Jamsil Station, you can easily find Lotte World and Lotte Department Store to the west, while to the east, locations such as Lotte Avenue and Lotte World Tower, along with Lotte World Mall, all belong to the expansive conglomerate known as Lotte Group.

As Lotte Group primarily focuses on shopping and entertainment, Jamsil naturally offers a wide range of entertainment options, making it a bustling destination, especially on weekends. Families on outings and couples enjoying dates are a common sight here.

“A Variety of Dining Options in the Jamsil Area”

Given the high foot traffic in this area, you can find dining options scattered throughout. Even within Lotte Department Store in Jamsil, as well as near Seokchon Lake, you’ll encounter various eateries. Notably, south of Seokchon Lake, there’s a street named “Songridan-gil.”

Furthermore, underground near Lotte World, you’ll find a place called “CJ Gourmet Bridge.” This venue, similar to a food court, brings together various dining options. In the past, it was known as “CJ Food World.”

“CJ Gourmet Bridge: Featured Establishments”

Several different establishments are located in CJ Gourmet Bridge. Here are some of the featured ones:

  • Cafe: SPNS
  • Fast Food: Manyeogimbap (Witch’s Gimbap)
  • Burger: Himnanda (Strongman)
  • Chinese: Chainahoe (China Tiger)
  • Korean: Hanokjib Kimchijjim
  • Southeast Asian Cuisine: Nuahnuah
  • Korean: Sodamsang
  • Steamed Chicken: Hongsugye Jjimdak

In terms of overall pricing, it leans towards the higher end, considering the cost of living in the Jamsil area. A meal for one person may slightly exceed 10,000 won, and given recent rapid inflation, prices may have increased further.

“Hanokjib Kimchijjim: Half-Portion of Mackerel”

During my recent visit, I ordered the “Half-Portion of Mackerel” from “Hanokjib Kimchijjim.” It felt a bit ambiguous to order mackerel at a kimchijjim (kimchi stew) specialty restaurant, but I had a craving for grilled mackerel.

The mackerel was cooked well, making it easy to eat, but it was relatively lean in terms of fish meat. Perhaps it was because I had a hearty mackerel meal in Jeju Island just a few days prior, but the comparison was inevitable. There was a noticeable difference in portion size, leaving a bit of disappointment.

However, for those who don’t prioritize portion size, this place offers the convenience of ordering and enjoying a variety of dishes in one location. It’s a convenient space in the Jamsil area to have a simple meal.
