For a while now, it has not been easy to travel abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I hadn’t needed to use my passport for several years, but by chance, when I checked the date, I saw that it had expired.
You can apply for or renew your passport at a nearby district office. I found that I could visit the Gwanak-gu Office near my home. On the 1st floor of Gwanak-gu Office, there is a place dedicated to handling passports, where you can apply for a new one or renew an existing one.

There are no specific items needed for passport renewal, but if you think about it, the following may be required:

Since I needed to renew my passport, I naturally needed passport-sized photos.
Through an internet search, I found a photo studio that was closest to Gwanak-gu Office and where I could quickly take photos. It’s a photo studio called “Photo Fix,” located right next to Gwanak-gu Office.
When taking passport photos, you can complete the session for as low as 12,000 KRW. If you want additional adjustments, the price is 20,000 KRW.

Additionally, since it’s a photo studio, they provide clothes like suits that you can wear for the photo shoot. It’s a great option for when you need to quickly submit photos at Gwanak-gu Office.
