Near Omokgyo Station in Mokdong, there is a Naju Gomtang restaurant called “Naju Gwan”. Restaurants with the name “Naju Gomtang” are typically franchise stores, but this place is an independent establishment. Thanks to this, it has some differences from the “Naju Gomtang” we commonly have at restaurants with that name.
“Mokdong Naju Gomtang Restaurant, Naju Gwan”
Naju Gwan is a restaurant that consists of the 2nd and 3rd floors. However, I didn’t go up to the 3rd floor, and I had my meal on the 2nd floor. The size was reasonably spacious, and even on the 2nd floor alone, about 20 people could have a meal at once. If the 3rd floor is of similar size, it could accommodate around 40 people having a meal simultaneously.
On that day, I visited alone and had a solo meal. Perhaps because it was a weekend and I visited at a somewhat late hour for dinner, it was okay to have a solo meal.
“Naju Gomtang: KRW 8,000”
The most basic menu, Naju Gomtang, is priced at KRW 8,000, while the special Gomtang is KRW 11,000. You can also order a pot rice version, which is KRW 10,000.
In addition to Gomtang, you can order other menu items like Suyuk (boiled beef slices) and Dogani Tang (oxtail soup). It’s a great place to enjoy a warm bowl of rice soup.
For this visit, I ordered “Naju Gomtang,” and overall, it was a satisfying meal, fitting for a single dining experience.
“Dessert: Coffee or Sikhye (sweet rice drink)”
The restaurant also provides dessert. Although it’s a self-service setup where you have to pour it yourself, you can choose between coffee or Sikhye, allowing you to enjoy a simple dessert after your meal.
Overall, it’s an unassuming restaurant, making it a great place to enjoy a warm bowl of rice soup. It’s also a place where you can comfortably have a solo meal without any hassle.
