The Gwanghwamun area can be considered a representative office-dense area in Seoul. It’s a place where you can find many office workers in need of coffee. To meet this demand, you can explore various cafes, both large franchises like Starbucks and Hollys, as well as smaller, budget-friendly franchise cafes, and even independently operated small cafes, all coexisting in the Gwanghwamun area.

On the first floor of the Kyung Hee Palace Morning 3rd Complex Office-tel, there’s a small cafe. It’s a place named “Coffee Stop,” known for its takeaway coffee. It’s always bustling with a crowd of people.
“Tongin-dong Coffee Workshop X Coffee Stop”
If you carefully observe the signboard of Coffee Stop, you’ll notice that it coexists with the signboard of “Tongin-dong Coffee Workshop.” Tongin-dong Coffee Workshop is a coffee-specialized roasting house located in Seochon Village. It has been growing in the area since 2008, and it’s said to have received love from coffee enthusiasts and local residents through various local cultural projects.
It’s presumed that the beans used in Coffee Stop may also be provided by Tongin-dong Coffee Workshop.
“Affordable Cafe, Coffee Stop”
Coffee Stop specializes in takeout coffee. This makes the coffee offered in the cafe also quite affordable. You can enjoy a cup of Americano for 3,000 won, which is a reasonable price.
Although it primarily focuses on takeout, if you look in front of the store, you’ll see a couple of small tables. While seating is not provided and you’ll have to stand, it’s a place where you can spend some time outdoors, especially when the weather is nice.
