Seoul Gwanghwamun Small Café “Joeunnal”

The Gwanghwamun area in Seoul is a bustling office district, home to the Seoul Government Complex, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. Embassy, various corporate headquarters, and numerous small businesses. As a result, the area is always crowded with office workers, especially during lunchtime.

On the west side of Gwanghwamun Square, you’ll find the KB Kookmin Card headquarters in the Daewoo Building, which houses a variety of eateries in its basement.

“Small Café in Gwanghwamun, Seoul: Joeunnal”

Joeunnal is a small café located in the basement arcade of the Daewoo Building, where the KB Kookmin Card headquarters is situated. Its underground location provides a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

“A Small-Scale Café”

The café is quite small, with about 4-5 tables, accommodating roughly 15 to 20 people at a time. It exudes the cozy charm typical of small basement cafés.

“Boiled Eggs with Morning Drinks”

Although I visited in the afternoon after lunch, the café offers a complimentary boiled egg with morning drink orders, a nice touch for those needing a protein boost to start their day. The prices are also quite reasonable compared to nearby establishments, making it a great spot to relax in the quiet underground space or grab a drink to go.
