If you venture into the alleyways west of Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, extending behind the morning apartment complex of Gyeonghuigung Palace, you’ll discover a secluded neighborhood atmosphere quite distinct from the bustling cityscape of the surrounding buildings.
In this area, you can find various restaurants and cafes that exude a feeling akin to that of renovated homes.
“Aino Garden: A Homey Ambiance”
Among these establishments is a restaurant named “Aino Garden,” which indeed gives off the vibe of a renovated home. Occupying a two-story building, the first floor seems to be utilized as an office space while the second floor is designated for the restaurant.
Outdoor seating is also available, offering a pleasant spot to spend time on sunny days. It’s a place where you can experience a touch of nostalgia amid the sleek urban setting.
“Former Site of Bukhansan Bakery”
Until a few years ago, this location was home to a bakery cafe called “Bukhansan Bakery.” Known for its branch in Eunpyeong Hanok Village, Bukhansan Bakery also had a branch here in Gwanghwamun.
During its time as a cafe, both the first and second floors were utilized as cafe spaces, providing even more expansive seating than it does now.
