Hanok, a traditional Korean residential space distinct from Western-style houses, is a sought-after accommodation for foreign tourists visiting Korea. Not only foreigners, but many Koreans also enjoy spending a healing night in the atmospheric ambiance of a hanok. This popularity stems from the fact that hanoks are unique residential spaces in Korea that appeal to both locals and foreigners alike.
However, when it comes to actually finding a hanok hotel or guesthouse, it’s not always easy. Perhaps for this reason, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has created a website called “Seoul Hanok Portal,” where they provide a map of hanok hotels and guesthouses in Seoul.
“Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Hanok Portal”
Upon entering the website operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, you can click on the “Hanok Experience” tab, then select “Seoul Hanok Tourism and Accommodation,” and choose “Stay.” This will allow you to see hanok stays located in Seoul on the map.
You can find hanok hotels and guesthouses primarily in areas like “Bukchon Hanok Village” and “Seochon Hanok Village,” but some can also be found in areas like Daehangno and Eunpyeong Hanok Village.
When you click on the map, you’ll find introductions for each location, along with links to contact information and reservation pages, making it easy to book a hanok stay. You can find the link below.
